A--- A palavra Abd1 significa o subjugado ou submisso. Esse significado abrange todo tipo de criação: as coisas superiores e inferiores, racionais e irracionais, animadas e inanimadas, dinâmicas e estáticas, aparentes e ocultas, crentes e descrentes, piedosos e dissolutos, etc.; todas elas criadas por Allah, o Altíssimo. Estão submetidas a Ele e são administradas somente por Ele. Além disso, todas elas têm um limite e um destino, e cada uma segue (seu curso) ou um prazo determinado. Tal é o julgamento e o ordenamento d'Ele, o Poderoso, o Onisciente. E se o sentido pretendido for o do servo devoto e humilde que ama a Deus, neste caso refere-se apenas aos homens e mulheres crentes, que são os servos honrados de Allah e os piedosos e tementes a Deus; sobre eles não haverá temor, nem eles se entristecerão.
