الف--- پہلا: یہ پوری عبادت کو ہی باطل کر دیتا ہے، جیسے کہ نمازِ فجر میں تیسری رکعت، نمازِ مغرب میں چوتھی رکعت، یا نمازِ ظہر میں پانچویں رکعت کا اضافہ کرنا۔ یا پھر، کسی نماز کی ایک رکعت کم کر دینا۔

A--- First: it nullifies the whole act of worship such as adding a third Rak'ah to the Fajr Prayer, a fourth one to the Maghrib, or a fifth to the Zuhr Prayer. Or, such as decreasing a Rak' ah thereof.

دوسرا: اگرچہ یہ (بدعت) ہے، لیکن یہ عبادت کو باطل نہیں کرتی۔

Second: it does not nullify the act of worship though it is (Innovation)

بنیادی طور پر خود ہی باطل ہو جاتا ہے۔ مثلاً وہ شخص جو وضو میں دھونے والے اعضاء کو چوتھی بار دھونے کا اضافہ کرے۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے یہ نہیں فرمایا کہ یہ باطل ہے، بلکہ فرمایا: "جس نے اس میں اضافہ کیا، اس نے یقیناً برائی کی، حد سے تجاوز کیا اور غلطی کی۔" [ابوداؤد اور ابن ماجہ]

itself is basically nullified. Such as the one who adds a fourth time of wash to the organs to be washed in Ablution. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) did not say it is nullified, but said: "Whosoever adds to this, he certainly did badly, transgressed and did (something) wrong." (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah)
