A--- ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے: "رسول اللہ ﷺ کی زندگی میں ہم ابوبکر کو بے مثال سمجھتے تھے، پھر عمر کو، پھر عثمان کو (جو فضیلت میں ان کے بعد آتے تھے)، اور پھر ہم صحابہ کرام کے درمیان کوئی فرق نہیں کرتے تھے۔" [صحیح البخاری] (ابوبکر) سے روایت ہے: "میں نے غار میں رسول اللہ ﷺ سے کہا: 'اگر ان میں سے کوئی اپنے قدموں کے نیچے دیکھے تو وہ ہمیں دیکھ لے گا۔' آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: 'اے ابوبکر! تم ان دو (افراد) کے بارے میں کیا کہتے ہو جن کا تیسرا اللہ ہے؟'" [بخاری و مسلم] (ابوبکر) سے روایت ہے: رسول اللہ ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "اگر میں کسی کو خلیل (گہرا دوست) بناتا تو ابوبکر کو بناتا، لیکن وہ میرے بھائی اور میرے ساتھی (اسلام میں) ہیں۔" [بخاری و مسلم]

A--- Narrated Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them): "During the lifetime of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) we considered Abu Bakr as peerless and then`Umar and then' Uthman (coming next to him in superiority) and then we used not to differentiate between the companions of the Prophet.”(Sahih Al-Bukhari) him): "I said to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while I was in the Cave. "If any of them should look under his feet, he would see us. "He said: "O Abu Bakr! What do you think of two (persons) the third of whom is Allah?" (Bukhari and Muslim) him): The Prophet (Peace be upon him) says: "If I were to take a Khalil, I would have taken Abu Bakr, but he is my brother and my companion (in Islam)." (Bukhari and Muslim)

نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: "اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے (بطور نبی) تمہاری طرف بھیجا لیکن تم نے کہا، 'آپ جھوٹ بول رہے ہیں،' جبکہ ابوبکر نے کہا: 'انہوں نے سچ کہا ہے، اور انہوں نے اپنے آپ سے اور اپنے مال سے میری تسلی کی ہے۔" پھر آپ ﷺ نے دو بار فرمایا، "کیا تم میرے ساتھی کو تکلیف دینا نہیں چھوڑو گے؟" اس کے بعد کسی نے ابوبکر کو تکلیف نہ پہنچائی۔ [صحیح البخاری]

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) says: "Allah sent me (as a Prophet) to you (people) but you said (to me), 'You are telling a lie,’ while Abu Bakr said: 'He has said the truth, and consoled me with himself and his money.” He then said twice, "Won't you then give up harming my companion?" After that nobody harmed Abu Bakr. (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

نبی ﷺ نے بھیڑیے اور گائے کے بولنے کے بارے میں فرمایا، "لیکن میں اس پر ایمان رکھتا ہوں اور ابوبکر اور عمر بھی اس پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں۔" [البخاری اور مسلم]

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said regarding the speaking of the wolf and the cow, "But I believe in it and so do Abu Bakr and 'Umar. " (Bukhari and Muslim)

اللہ کے رسول ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "اے ابن الخطاب! اس ذات کی قسم جس کے قبضے میں میری جان ہے! شیطان تمہیں کبھی کسی راستے پر چلتے ہوئے نہیں پاتا مگر وہ تمہارے راستے کے علاوہ کسی دوسرے راستے پر چلا جاتا ہے۔" [البخاری اور مسلم] ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ اللہ کے رسول ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "تم سے پہلے امتوں میں ایسے لوگ گزرے ہیں جو (وحی کے ذریعے) الہام پاتے تھے (اگرچہ وہ نبی نہیں تھے)۔ اور اگر میری امت میں کوئی ایسا شخص ہے، تو وہ عمر ہیں۔" [البخاری اور مسلم]

Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) says: "O Ibn Al-Khattab! By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Never does Satan find you going on a way, but he takes another way other than yours.”(Bukhari and Muslim) Narrated Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him): Allah's Messenger says: "Among the nations before you there used to be people who were inspired (though they were not Prophets). And if there is any of such a persons amongst my followers, it is 'Umar.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

جب عثمان بن عفانؓ بیعتِ رضوان سے پہلے مکہ گئے، تو اللہ کے رسول ﷺ نے اپنا دایاں ہاتھ آگے بڑھایا اور فرمایا، "یہ عثمان کا ہاتھ ہے۔" پھر آپ ﷺ نے اس سے ان کے (دوسرے) ہاتھ پر ہاتھ پھیرا اور فرمایا، "یہ (بیعت) عثمان کی طرف سے ہے۔" [صحیح البخاری]

When `Uthman Ibn 'Affan went to Mecca prior the Pledge of Ar-Ridwan, "Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) held out his right hand saying, 'This is 'Uthman's hand.’ He stroke his (other) hand with it saying, 'This (pledge of allegiance) is on the behalf of `Uthman.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: "جو کوئی رومہ کا کنواں کھودے گا، وہ جنت میں داخل ہوگا" پھر حضرت عثمانؓ نے اسے کھودا۔ پھر آپ ﷺ نے

He (Peace be upon him) says: "Whosoever digs the well of Rumah, he will enter Paradise" then 'Uthman dug it. Then, he (Peace be upon him)

کہا: "جو شخص لشکرِ عسرہ (غزوہ تبوک) کے لیے سامانِ راہ ہوتا ہے، وہ جنت میں داخل ہوگا۔" [صحیح البخاری]

said: "Whosoever makes provisions for the Army of Al'Usrah (the Battle of Tabuk), he will enter Paradise.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

اللہ کے نبی ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "کیا مجھے اس ہستی سے شرم نہیں آنی چاہیے جن سے فرشتے بھی شرماتے تھے؟" [صحیح مسلم]

Allah's Prophet (Peace be upon him) says: "Shouldn't I become shy of the one of whom the Angels became shy.” (Sahih Muslim)

اللہ کے نبی ﷺ نے علی ابن ابی طالب سے فرمایا، "تم مجھ سے ہو اور میں تم سے ہوں۔" (ایک صحیح حدیث)

Allah's Prophet (Peace be upon him) said to 'Ali Ibn Abu Talib, "You are (a part) from me, and I am (a part) from you.” (An Authentic Hadith)

نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیں مطلع فرمایا کہ علی ابن ابی طالب اللہ اور اس کے رسول ﷺ سے محبت کرتے ہیں، اور وہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول ﷺ کے محبوب ہیں۔ اللہ کے نبی ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "جس کا میں مولا ہوں، علی اس کے مولا ہیں۔" [احمد اور الترمذی]

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) informed us that `Ali Ibn Abu Talib loves Allah and His Messenger, and that he is loved by Allah and His Messenger Allah's Prophet (Peace be upon him) says: "Whom so ever I am his master, 'Ali is his master.” (Ahmed and At-Tirmidhi)

نبی ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "کیا تم اس بات پر راضی نہیں کہ تم میرے لیے ویسے ہی ہو جیسے ہارون موسیٰ کے لیے تھے، مگر اس ایک استثنا کے ساتھ کہ میرے بعد کوئی نبی نہیں ہوگا۔" [البخاری اور مسلم]

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) says: "Aren't you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there would be no Prophet after me.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

اللہ کے نبی ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "دس لوگ جنت میں داخل ہوں گے: نبی ﷺ جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، ابوبکر جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، عمر جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، عثمان جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، علی جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، طلحہ جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، الزبیر بن العوام جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، سعد بن مالک جنت میں داخل ہوں گے، اور عبدالرحمن بن عوف جنت میں داخل ہوں گے"۔ [احمد، ترمذی اور ابو داؤد]۔ سعید بن زید نے کہا: 'اگر آپ چاہیں تو میں دسویں کا نام بھی لے لوں، یعنی خود کو'۔ اللہ ان سب سے راضی ہو! اللہ کے رسول ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "میری امت میں میری امت کے ساتھ سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والا ابوبکر ہے، (حقوق کے معاملے میں) سب سے سخت..."

Allah's Prophet (Peace be upon him) says: "Ten (persons) will enter Paradise: the Prophet will enter Paradise, Abu Bakr will enter Paradise, 'Umar will enter Paradise, 'Uthman will enter Paradise, 'Ali will enter Paradise, Talha will enter Paradise, AzZubair Ibn Al-'Awwam will enter Paradise, Sa'd Ibn Malik will enter Paradise, and `Abdur-Rahman Ibn 'Auf will enter Paradise.” (Ahmed, At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud) Sa'id Ibn Zaid said: 'If you wish, I would name the tenth, i.e. himself.' May Allah be pleased with them all! Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) says: "The most merciful among my Ummah towards my Ummah is Abu Bakr, the severest (in rights)

"اللہ کے دین کے متعلق عمرؓ، سب سے زیادہ حیا والے عثمانؓ، حلال و حرام کے بارے میں سب سے زیادہ علم رکھنے والے معاذ بن جبلؓ، اللہ کی کتاب کے بہترین قاری ابی بن کعبؓ، اور وراثت کے احکام کے سب سے زیادہ عالم زید بن ثابتؓ ہیں، اور ہر امت کے لیے ایک امانت دار ہوتا ہے، اور اس امت کے امانت دار ابو عبیدہ بن الجراحؓ ہیں۔" [ترمذی، احمد اور ابن حبان]

pertaining to Allah's Religion is 'Umar, the most modest is 'Uthman, the most knowledgeable about what is lawful and unlawful is Mu'adh Ibn Jabal, the best reciter of Allah's Book is Ubaiy, the most knowledgeable about the laws of inheritance is Zaid Ibn Thabit, and for each Ummah there is a trustee, and the trustee of this Ummah is Abu`Ubaidah Ibn AlJarrah.”(At- Tirmidhi, Ahmed and Ibn Hibban)

اللہ کے رسول ﷺ نے الحسن اور الحسین کے بارے میں فرمایا کہ وہ دونوں جنت کے رہنے والے نوجوانوں کے سردار ہیں اور وہ آپ ﷺ کے دو پھول ہیں۔ [صحیح البخاری سے اقتباس]

Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) said pertaining to Al-Hasan and Al-Husain that both are masters of the young men from the residents of Paradise and that they are his two basils. (Quoted from Sahih Bukhari)

آپ ﷺ فرماتے ہیں: "اے اللہ! میں ان سے محبت کرتا ہوں، پس تو بھی ان سے محبت فرما۔" [البخاری اور مسلم]

He (Peace be upon him) says: "O Allah! I love them, so (please) love them." (Bukhari and Muslim)

ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے الحسن کو نکالا اور انہیں اپنے ساتھ منبر پر لے گئے اور فرمایا: "یہ میرا بیٹا ہے اور یہ ایک سید ہے، اور مجھے امید ہے کہ اللہ اس کے ذریعے مسلمانوں کے دو گروہوں کے درمیان صلح کروا دے گا۔" [صحیح البخاری]

Once the Prophet brought out Al-Hasan and took him up the pulpit along with him and said: "This son of mine is a Sayid (i.e. chief) and I hope that Allah will help him bring about reconciliation between two Muslim groups.” (Sahih Bukhari)

آپ ﷺ نے ان کی والدہ، فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے بارے میں فرمایا کہ وہ "جنت کی تمام عورتوں کی سردار ہیں۔" [البخاری اور مسلم]

He (Peace be upon him) said regarding their mother, Fatimah that she is "The mistress of all the ladies of Paradise." (Bukhari and Muslim)

تاہم، صحابہ کرام کے فضائل و مناقب بے شمار ہیں۔ ان میں سے کسی کے لیے بھی کسی فضیلت کا اثبات اس بات کا تقاضا نہیں کرتا کہ وہ چار خلفائے راشدین کے علاوہ ہر لحاظ سے ان سب سے بلند و برتر ہیں۔ پہلے تین کا درجہ مذکورہ بالا حدیث کی وجہ سے ہے جو ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے روایت کی ہے۔ جہاں تک علی ابن ابی طالب کا تعلق ہے، تو اس سے پہلے کے سنی علماء کا اس بات پر اجماع ہے کہ وہ ان کے بعد زمین پر بہترین مخلوق کے طور پر چوتھے ہیں۔

However, countless are the merits and virtues of the companions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). Affirming a virtue to any of them does not necessitate that he is far and above them all in every aspect save the four Rightly-guided Caliphs. The first three are due to the Hadith mentioned earlier and narrated by Ibn 'Umar. As for `Ali Ibn Abu Talib, the earlier Sunni scholars unanimously agreed upon that he was the fourth after them as the best creatures on earth.
