الف--- ابو داؤد اور دیگر نے سعید بن جمحان کے واسطے سے، انہوں نے صفینہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کیا ہے کہ اللہ کے رسول ﷺ نے فرمایا:

A--- Narrated Abu Dawud and others on the authority of Sa'id Ibn Jamhan after Safinah as saying: Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) says:

"نبوت کے بعد خلافت تیس سال تک رہے گی، پھر اللہ جسے چاہے گا بادشاہت عطا فرمائے گا۔" (ترمذی، ابو داؤد، احمد اور حاکم)

"The Caliphate after Prophethood will last for thirty years, then Allah grants kingship to whom He wills." (At-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Ahmed and Al-Hakim)

اس سے مراد وہ دور ہے جو ابوبکر، عمر، عثمان اور علی رضی اللہ عنہم اجمعین نے گزارا۔ ابوبکر نے دو سال اور تین ماہ، عمر نے دس سال اور چھ ماہ، عثمان نے بارہ سال، علی نے چار سال اور نو ماہ گزارے، اور تیس سال کی تکمیل میں وہ بیعت شامل ہے جو الحسن بن علی کے لیے دی گئی تھی، یعنی چھ ماہ۔

This implies the period lasted by Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman and `Ali, may Allah be pleased with them all. Abu Bakr stayed for two years and three months, 'Umar for ten years and six months, 'Uthman for twelve years, `Ali for four years and nine months, and in completion of the thirty years comes the Bai'ah (Pledge of allegiance) given for Al-Hasan Ibn 'Ali, that is six months.
