"Al-Islam houdt in dat je getuigt dat er geen god is dan Allah en dat Muhammad de Boodschapper van Allah is, dat je het gebed verricht, armenbelasting (Zakah) betaalt, de vasten van de ramadan onderhoudt en de bedevaart naar het Huis (de Ka'bah in Mekka) volbrengt, indien men de middelen heeft om dit te doen".
