Al-Sunnah, em sentido linguístico, é o método, e na Shari'ah é o nome de algumas das adorações voluntárias (nafl) transmitidas do Profeta ﷺ. A Sunnah é o nome daquilo que provém do Mensageiro de Allah ﷺ em forma de dito, ação e aprovação. Quando falamos das evidências da Shari'ah, tudo isso é a Sunnah, e tudo isso é o que foi recebido por revelação. Allah Ta'ala disse: {Nem ele fala por desejo próprio} {Isso não é senão revelação enviada a ele} Surat An-Najm, 3. E Ele, Ta'ala, disse: {Dize: "Eu apenas vos advirto pela revelação..."} Surat Al-Anbiya', 45.

Al–Sunnah linguistically is the method, and in the shari'ah it is the name of some of the supererogatory worships transferred from the Prophet (SAW), and the Sunnah is the name of what came from the messenger (SAW) of saying, action and approval, when we talk about the shari'ahi evidences, all that is the sunnah and it is all what is received by the revelation, Allah Ta'ala said: {Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire} {It is no less than inspiration sent down to him} 3 Surat Al-Najm, and He Ta'ala said: to according you warn but do I :Say revelation…} 45 Surat Al-Anbia'.
