किराये पर लेना (इजारा) एक ऐसा अनुबंध है जिसमें प्रतिफल के बदले किसी लाभ को प्राप्त किया जाता है, और यह तीन प्रकार का है:

Hiring is a contract for a benefit in return for compensation, and it is of three types:

पहला प्रकार—वह जिसमें अनुबंध वस्तुओं के लाभ पर हुआ हो, जैसे घरों, जानवरों, वाहनों और इसी प्रकार की चीज़ों को किराये पर लेना।

The first type—where the contract came upon the benefit of things like hiring houses, animals, vehicles and the like.

दूसरा प्रकार वह है जिसमें अनुबंध किसी कार्य से प्राप्त होने वाले लाभ पर हुआ हो, जैसे किसी विशेष काम के लिए उद्योगों और कारखानों के मालिक। वह अनुबंध जो कार्य से उत्पन्न लाभ पर किया जाता है, जैसे चित्रकारों, लोहारों, बढ़इयों और इसी प्रकार के अन्य कारीगरों को किराए पर लेना।

The second type—where the contract came upon the benefit of work like the owners of industries and factories for specific work. That which is contracted upon the benefit resulting from the work such as hiring painters, ironmongers, carpenters and the like.

तीसरा प्रकार वह है जिसमें अनुबंध (इजारा) किसी व्यक्ति के लाभ (मन्फ़अत) पर हो, जैसे नौकर और मज़दूर आदि को काम पर रखना।

The third type—where the contract came upon the benefit of the person like hiring servants and workmen and the like.

इस्लामी शरीअत में नौकरी पर रखना (किराए पर काम लेना) अपने सभी प्रकारों में जायज़ है। अल्लाह (SWT) ने फ़रमाया:

Hiring in all its types is permitted by the Shar’a. Allah (swt) said:

और उन्होंने (SWT) ने फ़रमाया:

And He (swt) said:

और अल-बैहक़ी ने अबू हुरैरा (रज़ि.) के तरीके से रिवायत किया कि नबी ﷺ ने फ़रमाया:

And Al-Baihaqi narrated via the way of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Prophet (saw) said:

And Al-Bukhari narrated
