تُقسَّم هذه الألفاظ الواضحة (الألفاظ) إلى أربعة أقسام بحسب تفاوت مراتب وضوحها، وتتناسب قوة الدلالة معها على النحو التالي:

These clear wordings (Alfaazh) are divided into four categories in accordance to their different levels of clarity. The strength of the Dalaalah (indication) corresponds to them as follows:

1 – الظاهر: وهذا أقلها وضوحًا.

1 – Azh-Zhaahir: This is the least clear.

2 – النص: وهذا يُعدّ أوضح من الظاهر.

2 – An-Nass: This is regarded to be clearer than the Zhaahir.

3 – المفصّل: هو أوضح من النص.

3 – Al-Mufassar: It is clearer than the Nass.

٤ - المُحْكَم: وهو أَوْضَحُ مِنَ الأنواعِ السابقةِ المذكورةِ.

4 - Al-Muhkam: It is clearer than the previous aforementioned types.
