4.1 De profetische traditie (Sunnah) is een bewijs voor de sharia, net als de Qur’ān - De Islamitische Persoonlijkheid | Quran Course

Al deze āyāt zijn expliciet en duidelijk in de verplichting om de Boodschapper ﷺ te volgen met betrekking tot wat hij ﷺ heeft gebracht, en in het beschouwen van de gehoorzaamheid aan de Boodschapper ﷺ als gehoorzaamheid aan Allah (SWT).

All of these ayāt are explicit and clear in the obligation of following the Messenger  with regards to what he  has brought and in considering the obedience to the Messenger  as obedience to Allah .

Dus de Qur’ān en de overlevering (Hadith) zijn bewijzen van de sharia wat betreft de verplichting om te volgen wat daarin staat. De overlevering (Hadith) is in dit opzicht gelijk aan de Qur’ān. Daarom is het niet toegestaan voor iemand om te zeggen: wij hebben het Boek van Allah (SWT) waaruit wij (regels) zullen afleiden, want wat men uit deze uitspraak begrijpt, is dat de overlevering (Hadith) is verlaten. Integendeel, het is noodzakelijk dat de profetische traditie (Sunnah) met het Boek wordt gecombineerd. Dus de overlevering (Hadith) wordt als bewijs van de sharia genomen, net zoals de Qur’ān. Het is een moslim niet toegestaan om te suggereren dat de Qur’ān alleen voldoende is en de profetische traditie (Sunnah) niet nodig is. De Boodschapper ﷺ heeft hierop gesuggereerd; er is overgeleverd dat de Profeet ﷺ zei:

So the Qur’ān and hadīth are Sharī’ah evidences in terms of the obligation of following what has come therein. The hadīth is like the Qur’ān in this respect. Therefore, it is not allowed for someone to say: we have the Book of Allah  from which we will take (rulings), because what one understands from this statement is that the hadīth has been abandoned. Rather, it is imperative that the Sunnah is combined with the Book. So the hadīth is taken as a Sharī’ah evidence just as the Qur’ān. It is not allowed for a Muslim to imply that the Qur’ān alone is sufficient, and the Sunnah is not needed. The Messenger  has alluded to this, It has been reported that the Prophet  said:

Daarom is het onjuist om de Qur’ān te vergelijken met de overlevering (Hadith), waarvan het resultaat zou zijn dat, indien de overlevering (Hadith) er niet mee overeenstemt (d.w.z. de Qur’ān), we deze verlaten; want dit leidt tot het verlaten van de profetische traditie (Sunnah) indien deze komt om de Qur’ān te specificeren, te beperken of de ambivalente (mujmal) delen ervan toe te lichten, aangezien het zou tonen dat wat de overlevering (Hadith) stelt niet overeenkomt met de Qur’ān of niet in de Qur’ān wordt aangetroffen. Zoals de overleveringen (Hadith) die de takken met de fundering (asl) verbinden. Voorwaar, de regels die in de overlevering (Hadith) worden vermeld, zijn niet in de Qur’ān vermeld, in het bijzonder veel van de gedetailleerde regels die niet in de Qur’ān zijn geopenbaard maar slechts in de overlevering (Hadith) worden vermeld. Daarom wordt de overlevering (Hadith) niet vergeleken met de Qur’ān wat betreft wat in de Qur’ān wordt vermeld en het verwerpen van alles wat daar niet in staat. Voorwaar, de regel hieromtrent is dat wanneer een overlevering (Hadith) iets vermeldt dat in strijd is met wat in de Qur’ān is gekomen als een definitieve betekenis, dan wordt de overlevering (Hadith) verworpen op basis van de betekenis ervan, d.w.z. de tekst (matn), omdat de betekenis ervan in strijd is met de Qur’ān. Dit is vergelijkbaar met wat is overgeleverd over Fatimah bint Qays toen zij zei:

Therefore, it is wrong to compare the Qur’ān with the hadīth, the result of which would be, if the hadīth does not agree with it (i.e the Quran) then we abandon it, because this leads to abandoning the Sunnah if it came to specify the Qur’ān, restrict it or elaborate its ambivalent (mujmal) parts, since it would show that what the hadīth states does not agree with the Qur’ān or it is not found in the Qur’ān. Like the ahadīth which relate the branches to the foundation (asl). Indeed, the rules mentioned in the hadīth have not been mentioned in the Qur’ān, especially, many of the detailed rules which have not been revelead in the Qur’ān but mentioned in the hadīth only. Therefore, Hadith is not compared to the Qur’ān regarding what is mentioned in the Qur’ān and rejecting anything else. Indeed, the order regarding this is that when a hadīth mentions something which contradicts what has come in the Qur’ān as a definite meaning, then the hadīth is rejected on the basis of its meaning i.e the text (matn) because it’s meaning contradict the Qur’ān. This is like what has been narrated about Fatimah bint Qays when she said:
