A---これは、信仰を表明しながら不信仰を隠し、ムスリムを欺く偽信者たちの不信仰を意味する。この分類には、ウバイイ・イブン・サルールとその一派のような人々が含まれる。アッラーであるアッラー・タアーラーは彼らについてこう仰っている：{そして人々の中には（偽信者である者たちが）いる}

A--- This means the disbelief of the hypocrites who declare belief and conceal their disbelief to deceive the Muslims. This category includes people such as Ubaiy Ibn Salul and his party; Allah the Almighty says pertaining to them: {And of mankind there are some (hypocrites)

人々の中には、「私たちはアッラーと最後の日を信じています」と言いながら、実際には信じていない者がいる。彼らはアッラーと信者たちを欺こうとしているが、欺いているのは自分自身だけであり、そのことに気づいていない。彼らの心には病（疑いと偽善）があり、アッラーはその病を増し加えられた。彼らは嘘をついていたので、痛ましい懲罰が彼らに与えられる。彼らに「地上で争いを起こしてはならない」と言われると、「私たちはただ和解をもたらす者です」と言う。まことに、彼らこそが争いを起こす者なのだが、それに気づいていない。彼らに、「他の人々が信じたように信じなさい」と言われると、「愚かな者たちが信じたように、私たちも信じなければならないのですか」と言う。まことに、愚かなのは彼らの方なのだが、彼らはそれを知らない。信者たちに会うと、「私たちは信じています」と言い、しかし自分たちの悪魔（多神教徒や偽善者）だけになると、「本当に私たちはあなた方の仲間です。私たちはただ彼らをからかっていただけです」と言う。アッラーは彼らをあざけり、彼らが盲目的にさまよい続けるように、その不信仰を増し加えられる。彼らは導きの代わりに迷いを買った者たちであり、そのため彼らの商売は利益をもたらさず、彼らは導かれなかった。彼らの譬えは、火を灯した者のようである。その火が周囲を照らしたとき、アッラーは彼らの光を奪い去り、彼らを暗闇の中に残された。（そのように）

who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day" while in fact they believe not. They (think to) deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not! In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. And when it is said to them: "Make notmischief on the earth!" they say: "We are only peace-makers.” Verily! They are -the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not. And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad (Peace be upon him), Al-Ansar and AlMuhajirun) have believed, " they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not. And when they meet those who believe they say: "We believe,” but when they are alone with their Shayatin (devils - polytheists, hypocrites), they say: "Truly, we are with you; verily, we were but mocking." Allah mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doing to wander blindly. These are they who have purchased error for guidance, so their commerce was profitless. And they were not guided. Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindled a fire; then, when it lighted all around him Allah took away their light and left them in darkness. (So)

彼らは見えない。彼らは聾であり、唖であり、盲目であるため、正しい道に立ち返らない。あるいは、天から降る豪雨のようなもので、その中には闇、雷鳴、稲妻がある。彼らは死を恐れて、耳を打つ轟く雷鳴を遮るために指を耳に突っ込む。

they could not see. They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they return not (to the Right Path). Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunderclap for fear of death.

しかし、アッラーは不信仰者たちを包囲しておられる(すなわち、アッラーは彼らすべてを一つに集められる)。稲妻が彼らの視力をほとんど奪わんばかりである。稲妻が彼らのために光るたびに、彼らはその中を歩き、暗闇が彼らを覆うと、立ち止まる。アッラーが御心であれば、彼らの聴覚と視覚を取り去られたであろう。まことに、アッラーはすべてのものに対して力を有しておられる}。(アル＝バカラ、8〜20)

But Allah ever encompasses the disbelievers (i.e. Allah will gather them all together). The lightning almost snatches away their sight, whenever it flashes for them they walk therein, and when darkness covers them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Certainly, Allah has power over all things}. (Al-Baqarah, 8-20)
