アル・スンナ（スンナ）は言語的には「方法」を意味します。シャリーアにおいては、預言者（SAW）から伝えられた任意の（ナフル）礼拝の名称であり、また、預言者（SAW）から出た言葉、行動、承認を指す名称でもあります。シャリーアの典拠について語るとき、それらすべてがスンナであり、啓示によって受け取られたものすべてです。アッラーがお告げになりました。{彼は自分の欲望から語るのではない}{それは彼に下された啓示にほかならない}第53章アン＝ナジュム。また、アッラーはこうも仰いました。{言え、「私はただ啓示に従うだけです」}第21章アル＝アンビヤー。

Al–Sunnah linguistically is the method, and in the shari'ah it is the name of some of the supererogatory worships transferred from the Prophet (SAW), and the Sunnah is the name of what came from the messenger (SAW) of saying, action and approval, when we talk about the shari'ahi evidences, all that is the sunnah and it is all what is received by the revelation, Allah Ta'ala said: {Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire} {It is no less than inspiration sent down to him} 3 Surat Al-Najm, and He Ta'ala said: to according you warn but do I :Say revelation…} 45 Surat Al-Anbia'.
