Os textos legislativos (Nusoos Shar'iyah) foram revelados e chegaram até nós na língua árabe, e não é possível deduzir as Ahkaam Ash-Shar'iyah senão por meio dela. Por essa razão, é essencial que o Mujtahid tenha consciência das áreas de estudo relacionadas à língua árabe: seus princípios (Qawaa'id) e sua Fiqh (regras e compreensão). Isso para que ele se familiarize com o que necessariamente precisa das áreas linguísticas de conhecimento que lhe permitirão realizar o Ijtihaad, fazer deduções e compreender os textos.

The Shar’iyah Nusoos (texts) were revealed and came to us in the Arabic language and it is not possible to deduce the Ahkaam Ash-Shar’iyah except by it. For that reason, it is essential for the Mujtahid to be aware of the areas of study related to the Arabic language; its principles (Qawaa’id) and its Fiqh (rules and understanding). That is so that he can be familiar with what he necessarily requires of the linguistic areas of knowledge that will enable him to perform Ijtihaad, make deductions and understand the texts.

Os ʿUlamāʾ de Uṣūl al-Fiqh incluíram em seus livros uma exposição de algumas das questões relacionadas à língua árabe que são necessárias para quem estuda Uṣūl al-Fiqh. Isso se dá para que certas terminologias linguísticas frequentemente mencionadas nos princípios de Uṣūl al-Fiqh possam ser compreendidas, como, por exemplo: a Ḥaqīqah e o Majāz, a Ḥaqīqah ʿUrfiyyah e a Ḥaqīqah Shar‘iyyah, e o Ishtirāk e o Taraāduf, entre outros princípios e definições linguísticas.

The ‘Ulamaa of Usool ul-Fiqh have included within their books a presentation of some of the issues related to the Arabic language that are necessary for the one who is studying Usool ul-Fiqh. That is so that some of the linguistic terminologies that are frequently mentioned within the principles of Usool ul-Fiqh can be understood like for example: The Haqeeqah and the Majaaz, the Haqeeqah Al- ‘Urfiyah and Haqeeqah Ash-Shar’iyah, and the Ishtiraak and the Taraaduf amongst other linguistic principles and definitions.

Por essa razão, vi que isso completa o proveito deste livro: apresentar, de forma breve, alguns dos estudos da língua árabe, enquanto quem desejar aprofundar-se pode fazê-lo consultando os estudos e obras realizados nos livros especializados na língua.

For that reason, I have seen that it completes the benefit of this book, to present some of the studies of the Arabic language in a brief manner whilst whoever wishes to increase upon that can do so by referring to the studies and works that have been undertaken in the books specialising in the language.
