Al-Qiyas é a união de um assunto a outro assunto dentro do Hukm Ash-Shar'iy, devido a que os dois assuntos se unificam em relação à 'Illah (razão) comum, no caso em que a 'Illah representa o Baa'ith (motivo/causa) para o Hukm.

Al-Qiyaas is the joining of a matter to another matter within the Hukm Ash-Shar’iy due to the two matters being unified in respect to the (commonly shared) ‘Illah (reasoning) in the case where the ‘Illah represents the Baa’ith (reason/cause) for the Hukm.

Outweighing (at-tarjīḥ) em relação ao Qiyās significa dar preferência a um ḥukm de um ramo, obtido por meio de um Qiyās, sobre outro ḥukm para o mesmo ramo, também obtido por meio de outro Qiyās baseado em outro texto.

Outweighing Qiyaas means outweighing a branch Hukm taken by way of Qiyaas upon another Hukm for the same branch also taken by way of another Qiyaas from another text.
