Em linguagem, at-talfeeq vem do verbo (Lafaqa/Yalfiqu), com o sentido de costurar um pedaço de tecido a outro pedaço de tecido, enquanto at-tilfaaq significa a costura de uma peça de roupa a outra peça de roupa.

At-Talfeeq linguistically means: It is from the verb (Lafaqa/Yalfiqu) with the meaning of sewing a piece of garment into another piece whilst At-Tilfaaq means the sewing of a garment into another garment.

O que se entende por At-Talfeeq entre os Madhaahib é: o Muqallid (seguidor de taqlid) tomar de cada Madh'hab aquilo que se conforma e concorda com as suas Hawaa (desejos) em relação aos Ahkaam Ash-Shar'iyah de que necessita, sem prestar qualquer atenção aos critérios de preponderância que mencionamos, como o nível de conhecimento daquele de quem está adotando e a força do Daleel (evidência).

What is meant by At-Talfeeq amongst the Madhaahib is: The Muqallid taking from every Madh’hab that which conforms and agrees with his Hawaa (desires) in relation to the Ahkaam Ash-Shar’iyah that he requires without paying any regard to the criteria of outweighing, that we have mentioned, like the level of the knowledge of the one he is adopting from and the strength of the Daleel (evidence).

Que uma pessoa faça taqlid quanto aos invalidadores do wudu' de acordo com o que ela considera mais leve que outros, e assim considere que o toque na mulher não anula o wudu' segundo a opinião do Imam Abu Hanifah, que o sangramento não anula o wudu' segundo a opinião do Imam Ash-Shafi'i, e que o sono estando sentado não anula o wudu' segundo a opinião do Imam Malik.

That a person makes Taqleed in respect to the invalidators of the Wudoo’ in accordance to what he sees to be lighter than others and so he considers that the touching of the woman does not break the Wudoo’ according to the opinion of Al-Imaam Abu Hanifah, that bleeding does not break the Wudoo’ according to the opinion of Al-Imaam Ash-Shaafi’iy and that sleep whilst sitting does not break the Wudoo’ according to the opinion of Al-Imaam Al-Maalik.

O muqallid reuniu, dentro de uma única questão, que são os invalidadores do Wudoo’, aquilo que concorda com os seus desejos entre as opiniões dos Madhaahib. Se apresentássemos o que ele adotou diante de cada um dos Madhaahib, tornar-se-ia evidente para nós que o seu Wudoo’ foi invalidado e que não lhe é permitido realizar a Salaah.

This example illustrates the meaning of At-Talfeeq amongst the Madhaahib. The Muqallid has brought together that which agrees with his desires from the opinions of the Madhaahib within a single issue, which is the invalidators of the Wudoo’. If we were to present what he had adopted before each of the Madhaahib then it would be apparent to us that his Wudoo’ had been invalidated and that it is not permitted for him to perform the Salaah.

Isso porque, segundo a escola (madh’hab) do Imam Ash-Shaafi’iy e do Imam Maalik, ele teria invalidado seu Wudoo’ pelo toque na mulher, enquanto, segundo a escola do Imam Abu Hanifah, ele teria invalidado seu Wudoo’ pelo sangramento.

That is because according to the Madh’hab of Al-Imaam Ash-Shaafi’iy and Al-Imaam Al-Maalik he would have invalidated his Wudoo’ by the touching of the woman whilst he would have broken his Wudoo’ according to the Madh’hab of Al-Imaam Abu Hanifah by the bleeding.
