নাহি (নিষেধাজ্ঞা)-এর আরবি ভাষায় একটি সীগাহ (রূপ) রয়েছে, আর তা হলো: لآ تَفْعَل বা لا يَفْعَل। এর অর্থ হলো কাজ থেকে বিরত থাকা বা কাজটি না করা, 'আলা ওয়াজহিল-ইসতিলা (উচ্চতর কর্তৃপক্ষ থেকে আসার ভিত্তিতে)। আরবি বাকধারার বিভিন্ন ধরনের অনুসারে এমন কিছু সীগাহ (রূপ) রয়েছে যা কাজ থেকে বিরত থাকা বা পরিহার করাকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করে, এবং বাক্যের গঠন থেকে নাহি-এর অর্থ নির্ধারণ করা যায়। নাহি-এর রূপগুলোকে সংক্ষেপে এভাবে বলা যেতে পারে:

The Nahi (forbiddance) has a Seeghah (form) in the Arabic language and it is: لآ تَفْعَل or لا يَفْعَل and it means to leave or not do the action ‘Alaa Wajh -il-Isti’laa’ (upon the basis that it has come from a higher authority). There are Siyagh (forms) in accordance to the styles of the Arabic speech that establish the leaving or refraining from the action and the meaning of the Nahi can be deduced from the composition of the sentences. It is possible to sum up the forms of the Nahi as follows:
