Los ʿUlamāʾ han presentado pruebas sobre la importancia de Al-ʿUrf y lo han considerado Shar'an (legítimo), basándose en los dictámenes de los ʿUlamāʾ anteriores, entre ellos:

The ‘Ulamaa have presented evidence in respect to the importance of Al-‘Urf and they considered it to be Shar’an (legitimate) based upon the views of the previous ‘Ulamaa including:

1 – Al-Imam Malik, quien fundamentó (o basó) gran parte de sus fallos (ahkam) en las prácticas de la gente de Al-Madina, es decir, en las costumbres de Ahl al-Madina y en su ‘urf.

1 – Al-Imaam Maalik who built (or based) a lot of his Ahkaam upon the actions of the people of Al-Madinah i.e. upon the customs of Ahl-ul-Madinah and their ‘Urf.

2 – Abu Haneefah y sus alumnos (seguidores) discreparon respecto a algunos de los Ahkaam Ash-Shar'iyah debido a la diferencia en sus A'araaf (costumbres).

2 – Abu Haneefah and his students (followers) differed in respect to some of the Ahkaam Ash-Shar’iyah based upon the difference in their A’araaf (customs).
