Its definition:
अल-मुतशाबिह वह लफ़्ज़ (शाब्दिक अभिव्यक्ति) है जिसका अभिप्रेत अर्थ छुपा हुआ या अस्पष्ट होता है। उसका सीग़ह (रूप) उस चीज़ की ओर संकेत या मार्गदर्शन नहीं करता जो उससे अभिप्रेत है। इसका अर्थ यह है कि उसे समझने का कोई रास्ता नहीं है और उसे अल्लाह (SWT) के सिवा कोई नहीं जानता।
Al-Mutashaabih is the Lafzh (worded expression), the intended meaning of which is hidden or unclear. Its Seeghah (form) does not indicate or guide to what is intended from it. That means there is no way to comprehend it and that none except Allah (swt) knows it.
इस संबंध में उदाहरण के रूप में वे बातें पेश की गई हैं जैसे सूरतों की शुरुआत में आने वाले हुरूफ़ अल-मुकत्तआ, जैसे: 'الم', 'حمعسق' और 'كهيعص'। (यानी कुछ मुसलमानों ने) इसके उदाहरण के रूप में वे आयतें भी पेश की हैं जो सिफ़ात (गुणों) का वर्णन करती हैं, जैसे उसका (SWT) यह कथन:
Examples of this that have been presented include the Huroof Al-Muqatta’ah at the beginning of the Suwar like: ’ آلم ‘ , ‘حمعسق ' and .‘كهيعص’ They (i.e. some of the Muslims) have also presented as examples of this the Aayaat that discuss the Siffaat (attributes) like His Qawl (swt):
अत्यंत दयालु, जो अर्श पर समासीन है। (ता-हा 5)
The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established (TaHa 5).
और जैसे:
And like:
अल्लाह का हाथ उनके हाथों के ऊपर है (अल-फ़तह 10)।
The hand of Allah is over their hands (Al-Fat’h 10).
इस अर्थ के अनुसार, मुतशाबिह उसूल के अध्ययन की श्रेणी में नहीं आता, बल्कि "इल्म उल-कलाम" के अंतर्गत आता है, क्योंकि उसका संबंध अक़ीदा से है, न कि अहकाम अश-शरइय्याह से। जबकि "इल्म उसूल उल-फ़िक़्ह" व्यावहारिक अहकाम अश-शरइय्याह के क्षेत्र की पड़ताल करता है, न कि अक़ाइद (आस्थाओं) की।
The Mutashaabih, according to this meaning, does not fall into the category of the studies of Usool but rather within the ‘Ilm ul-Kalaam’ because it has a relationship to the Aqeedah and not to the Ahkaam Ash-Shar’iyah. That is whilst ‘Ilm Usool ul-Fiqh looks into the area of the practical Ahkaam Ash-Shar’iyah and not the Aqaa’id (beliefs).
उन्होंने अल्लाह (SWT) के इस कथन को इस मत के समर्थन में प्रस्तुत किया है कि मनुष्य मुतशाबिह (अस्पष्ट आयतों) के अर्थ को समझ नहीं सकता।
They have used the following statement of Allah (swt) to support the view that man cannot comprehend the meaning of the Mutashaabih:
और उसकी वास्तविक व्याख्या अल्लाह के सिवा कोई नहीं जानता (आले इमरान 7)।
And none knows its [true] interpretation except Allah (Aali ‘Imraan 7).
हनफ़ी उसूल के विद्वानों ने, हालाँकि, मुतशाबिह की परिभाषा में यह जोड़ा कि: "और इसे केवल वे ही समझते हैं जो ज्ञान में पक्के और सुदृढ़ (रासिख़) हैं।"
The Hanafi Scholars of Usool however added to the definition of the Mutashaabih by saying: “And none comprehend it except those who are firmly grounded (Raasikh) in knowledge”.
