इन स्पष्ट शब्द-प्रयोगों (अल्फ़ाज़) को उनकी स्पष्टता के भिन्न स्तरों के अनुसार चार श्रेणियों में बाँटा गया है। दलालत (संकेत) की शक्ति इनसे इस प्रकार मेल खाती है:

These clear wordings (Alfaazh) are divided into four categories in accordance to their different levels of clarity. The strength of the Dalaalah (indication) corresponds to them as follows:

1 – अज़-ज़ाहिर: यह सबसे कम स्पष्ट है।

1 – Azh-Zhaahir: This is the least clear.

2 – अन-नस्स: इसे ज़ाहिर से अधिक स्पष्ट माना जाता है।

2 – An-Nass: This is regarded to be clearer than the Zhaahir.

3 – अल-मुफ़स्सर: यह नस्स से अधिक स्पष्ट है।

3 – Al-Mufassar: It is clearer than the Nass.

4 - अल-मुहकम: यह पिछले उल्लिखित प्रकारों से अधिक स्पष्ट है।

4 - Al-Muhkam: It is clearer than the previous aforementioned types.
