Lafaz-lafaz yang jelas (Alfaazh) ini terbagi menjadi empat kategori sesuai dengan tingkat kejelasannya yang berbeda. Kekuatan Dalaalah (petunjuk) sesuai dengan kategori tersebut sebagai berikut:

These clear wordings (Alfaazh) are divided into four categories in accordance to their different levels of clarity. The strength of the Dalaalah (indication) corresponds to them as follows:

1 – Azh-Zhaahir: Ini yang paling tidak jelas.

1 – Azh-Zhaahir: This is the least clear.

2 – An-Nass: Ini dianggap lebih jelas daripada Zhaahir.

2 – An-Nass: This is regarded to be clearer than the Zhaahir.

3 – Al-Mufassar: Ia lebih jelas daripada An-Nash.

3 – Al-Mufassar: It is clearer than the Nass.

4 - Al-Muhkam: Ini lebih jelas daripada jenis-jenis sebelumnya yang telah disebutkan.
