1) Tareeqah of the Mutakallimeen:

Al-Mutakallimoon is een term die werd gegeven aan de geleerden (Ulama) die het 'Aql gebruikten om tot de bevestiging en vestiging van de Usool ud Deen te komen, zoals het geloof (Iman) in Allah en het geloof (Iman) met betrekking tot het feit dat de Qur'aan van Allah Ta'Aalaa is. De titel werd gegeven aan hen die zich verdiepten in de kwestie van de onfeilbaarheid van de Anbiyaa' vóór het profentschap, de kwestie van de rationele of 'Aqliy bepaling van Husn en de 'Aqliy bepaling van Qubh, en de kwestie van het tonen van dankbaarheid aan de Mun’im (de schenker van de Ni’mah) die Allah is, en of het verplicht is om te luisteren vanwege het bewijs (Daleel) Ash-Shar’iy of dat het rationeel verplicht is! Al-Mutakallimoon is an expression that was given to the ‘Ulamaa who utilised the ‘Aql to arrive to affirm and establish the Usool ud Deen, like the Imaan in Allah and Imaan in respect to the Qur’aan being from Allah Ta’Aalaa. The title was given to those who looked into the issue of the infallibility of the Anbiyaa’ before Prophethood, the issue of the rational or ‘Aqliy determination of Husn and ‘Aqliy determination of Qubh and the issue of showing gratitude to the Mun’im (the provider of the Ni’mah) who is Allah and whether it is obligatory to listen due to the Daleel Ash-Shar’iy or is it obligatory rationally! They also discussed the origin of languages and whether they are Tawqeefiyah (from Allah) or are they Tawfeeqiyah i.e. by the agreement of the people upon them.

De Tareeqah (methode) werd om twee redenen Tareeqat ul-Mutakallimeen genoemd:

The Tareeqah (method) was called Tareeqat ul-Mutakallimeen for two reasons:

1) Sommige van de Mutakallimeen gingen over tot de studie van de grondbeginselen van de jurisprudentie (Usul al-Fiqh) op deze methode omdat zij daarin een sterke gelijkenis vonden met hun eigen onderzoeksmethodologieën. Als zodanig onderzochten, benaderden en bestudeerden zij de grondbeginselen van de jurisprudentie (Usul al-Fiqh) op precies dezelfde wijze als zij de ‘Ilm ul-Kalaam hadden bestudeerd.

1) Some of the Mutakallimeen entered into the study of Usool ul Fiqh in this method because they found within it a strong resemblance between it and their own methodologies of study. As such they looked into, approached and studied Usool ul-Fiqh just as they had studied the ‘Ilm ul-Kalaam.
