এই সূরাটি এর আগের সূরা, সূরা ৯৩, আদ-দুহা নাযিল হওয়ার অল্প পরেই নাযিল হয়েছে, যেন এটি সেই সূরারই ধারাবাহিকতা। এখানেও সহানুভূতির অনুভূতি ও আনন্দদায়ক, বন্ধুসুলভ কথোপকথনের পরিবেশ পূর্ণ মাত্রায় বিরাজ করছে। এতে নবী ﷺ-এর প্রতি আল্লাহর যে যত্ন রয়েছে তা চিত্রিত হয়েছে, এবং তাঁর প্রতি উদ্বেগবশত গৃহীত ব্যবস্থাসমূহের ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া হয়েছে। সূরাটি আসন্ন স্বস্তির সুসংবাদও দিয়েছে, নবী ﷺ-কে সহজতার রহস্য দেখিয়েছে এবং তাঁর সঙ্গে আল্লাহর দৃঢ় সম্পর্কের উপর জোর দিয়েছে।

This sūrah was revealed soon after the preceding one, Sūrah 93, The Morning Hours, as if it were a continuation of it. Here, also, the feelings of sympathy and an atmosphere of delightful, friendly discourse abound. It portrays the divine care the Prophet enjoys and explains the measures taken out of concern for him. The sūrah also gives the good news of forthcoming relief, points out to the Prophet the secret of ease, and emphasizes his strong ties with God.

“আমি কি আপনার বক্ষ উন্মুক্ত করে দিইনি? এবং আপনার ওপর থেকে সেই বোঝা নামিয়ে দিইনি, যা আপনার পিঠকে ভারাক্রান্ত করছিল? আর আমি কি আপনার জন্য আপনার খ্যাতিকে সমুন্নত করিনি?” (আয়াত ১-৪) এই আয়াতগুলো থেকে বোঝা যায় যে নবী ﷺ তাঁর ওপর অর্পিত বার্তা ও সেটির পথের বাধা-বিপত্তি নিয়ে কোনো কারণে উদ্বিগ্ন ছিলেন। এই আয়াতগুলো আরও ইঙ্গিত দেয় যে তাঁর মিশনের সামনে থাকা কঠিন পরিস্থিতি তাঁর হৃদয়ে গুরুভার হয়ে চেপে বসেছিল, ফলে তাঁর মধ্যে জরুরি সাহায্য ও সমর্থনের প্রয়োজনবোধ জেগেছিল। সেই কারণেই এই সান্ত্বনাদায়ক সম্বোধন।

“Have We not opened up your heart, and relieved you of your burden, which weighed heavily on your back? And have We not given you high renown?” (Verses 1-4) This suggests that the Prophet was troubled for some reason concerning the message he was entrusted with, and the obstacles in its way. These verses also suggest that the difficulties facing his mission weighed heavily on his heart, making him feel the need for urgent help and backing. Hence this comforting address.

“আমি কি আপনার বক্ষ উন্মুক্ত করে দিইনি”, যাতে তা এই বার্তার প্রতি উষ্ণ হয়ে ওঠে? আমি কি এটিকে আপনার জন্য সহজ করে দিইনি, আপনার কাছে প্রিয় করে তুলিনি, এর পথ নির্ধারণ করে দিইনি এবং এর সুখময় পরিণতি দেখার জন্য আপনার সামনে আলোকিত করে দিইনি? আপনার হৃদয়ের দিকে তাকান! আপনি কি তাকে আলোয়, আনন্দে ও সান্ত্বনায় পরিপূর্ণ দেখতে পাচ্ছেন না? আপনার প্রতি বর্ষিত সমস্ত নিয়ামতের প্রভাব নিয়ে চিন্তা করুন! প্রতিটি কষ্টে কি আপনি সান্ত্বনা অনুভব করেন না, এবং আপনার ভোগ করা প্রতিটি বঞ্চনায় কি আপনি তৃপ্তি খুঁজে পান না?

“Have We not opened up your heart,” so that it may warm to this message? Have We not facilitated it for you, endeared it to you, defined its path and illuminated it for you to see its happy end? Look into your heart! Do you not see it to be full of light, happiness and solace? Reflect on the effects brought about by all the favours bestowed on you! Do you not feel comfort with every difficulty, and find contentment with every kind of deprivation you suffer?
