নবী ﷺ ঈদের দিনে এবং জুমআর নামাযের আগে খুতবা দেওয়ার সময় এই সূরাটি পাঠ করতেন, এবং তিনি বিশাল জনসমাবেশের জন্য তাঁর বক্তব্যের বিষয়বস্তু ও মূল আলোচ্য হিসেবে এটিকে গ্রহণ করতেন। এটি নিঃসন্দেহে একটি মহিমান্বিত সূরা, যা মৌলিক সত্যসমূহ তুলে ধরে, শক্তিশালী ছন্দ, প্রভাবশালী বাক্যভঙ্গি, সুস্পষ্ট চিত্রকল্প, সুনির্দিষ্ট ইঙ্গিতসমূহ এবং জোরালো আয়াত-সমাপ্তির মাধ্যমে। এটি চারদিক থেকে আমাদের হৃদয় ও মনকে সম্বোধন করে এই সত্য আমাদের সামনে উপস্থাপন করে যে, জন্ম থেকে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত, এবং তারপর পুনরুত্থান, সমবেতকরণ ও হিসাবের সময় পর্যন্ত, আমরা সর্বদা আল্লাহর সতর্ক দৃষ্টির অধীনে রয়েছি। এটি মানুষের উপর সর্বদা বিদ্যমান এক সজাগ দৃষ্টি, যা কিছুই হারায় না এবং কিছুই উপেক্ষা করে না। প্রতিটি নিঃশ্বাস, ক্ষণস্থায়ী চিন্তা ও অনুভূতি তাঁর জানা; উচ্চারিত প্রতিটি শব্দ লিপিবদ্ধ; প্রতিটি পদক্ষেপ পর্যবেক্ষিত। এই পূর্ণাঙ্গ দৃষ্টি চিন্তা ও কর্ম উভয়েরই হিসাব রাখে; এর কাছ থেকে কিছুই পালাতে পারে না, এবং এর কাছে কিছুই গোপন থাকে না। দিবালোকে যা করা হয় তা যেমন নথিভুক্ত করে, তেমনি গোপন ফিসফিসও এটি পর্যবেক্ষণ করে।

The Prophet used to read this surah when he delivered a sermon on (Id occasions and before Friday prayers, making it the theme and the content of his speech for large audiences. It is certainly a momentous surah, outlining fundamental facts, using a strong rhythm, powerful expressions, clearly-delineated images, highlighted connotations and emphatic verse endings. It addresses our hearts and minds from all angles putting before us the truth that we are always under Gods watchful eye, from birth to death, and then to the time of resurrection, gathering and reckoning. This is an ever-present watch of man at all times, losing nothing and overlooking nothing. Every breath, fleeting thought and feeling is known; every uttered word is recorded; every move is monitored. This complete watch accounts for thoughts and actions alike; nothing escapes it, and nothing is hidden from it. It monitors secret whispers in the same way as it records what is done in broad daylight.
